Full page spreads

Below are examples of my hand-painted full-page spreads depicting a wide range of creatures and people.

‘The Magical meeeting’

‘The magical meeting’ is an alternate take on the mythical creature ‘Fairy’ meeting an awe stricken child for the first time. My inspirations for this were 1990’s rockstars, vibrant butterflies, and a very close friend of mine.

‘The star goes on top’

‘The star goes on top’ is a piece inspired by the festive period and my love of ice-age creatures. My process in creating this piece started with an in-depth sketch of the scene. Then I started building up the layers of watercolour paint, starting with the lightest areas first. The areas that required more layers were the Christmas tree and the Woolly Rhino itself. Finally, once the watercolour paint had dried, I added the final embellishments. This included the small areas of snow using acrylic paint and adding the finer details in the fur and other regions using high-grade coloured pencils.

‘Murtle’s discovery’

‘Murtle’s discovery’ is a piece I created inspired by my passion for tackling climate change. The text that accompanies this image is ‘Murtle was disappointed that the ocean wasn’t fantastic. Because the sea was full of plastic’.

This piece was created by combining watercolour and acrylic paint to achieve the depth in the water.

‘A Family outing’

‘A family outing’ is a mixed media piece created to show texture in my characters in addition to capturing the ice age setting.
