Maya the Mammoth
Our story begins 15,000 years ago, when the Earth looked very different. Ice and snow ruled the land, and Maya, a young, easily distracted Mammoth, often wandered away from her herd. One curious step too far sends Maya falling through time itself, landing in the craziness of the 21st century.
Maya the Mammoth is a story of adversity, friendship, and love that follows her journey from the ice age to the present day. In doing so, she meets a little girl named Gaia and forms a long-lasting and true bond through ups, downs, and in-betweens. It explores our relationship with nature, and the takeaway for the reader is one of wonder and appreciation for our beautiful planet.
The target age for this picture book is 5-8, as it explores the narrative deeply through image and word.
